Ditch the car this weekend and come down for another rollercoaster at 5pm - England v Switzerland. See full update about site access

Another busy week and weekend at the club! The Polling Booths have been put away and its back to our #oneclubfoursports activity this weekend - plus the rollercoaster of emotions that's bound to endure with England v Switzerland at 5pm Saturday 6th July ! The bar will be open as normal but there will be no bar / bbq food due to staffing shortages.

Important information on ACCESS / PARKING THIS WEEKEND
Work on the Blue Pitch Replacement Project (part of Project 18) has started at pace this week as the contractors are cracking on. The old turf and shock pad have been lifted and taken off site for recycling and the new spectator barrier installed. This weekend the contractors are laying the new shock pad (a precision job involving what looks like tarmac, lasers and some impressive kit!)

To safely be able to offer sport, general use of the club and manage a construction area there are a number of restrictions in place that we need EVERYONE on site to follow and respect for the safely of all.

- we've reduced parking spaces so need to ask everyone to walk to the club, cycle or park considerately off site if possible to help manage traffic flow and parking on site (and retain spaces for visiting teams)

- the drive is fenced off near the clubhouse and back drive so there is no access to drive through the club. Access is from Stockport rd and Wood Lane gates BUT we need to limit car accessing the site to avoid bottlenecks and queues forming on site and onto the roads as with in / out access we'll soon get into a gridlock position. If only coming to the club for a short time / not playing matches please try avoid coming on site to reduce the stressful situation at cross over times with cars trying to get on sit and leaving. Let's be kind to everyone whose trying to help and each other. Its a few minutes walk if park off site

- safe working site - parents are reminded that they are responsible when on site for supervising their u18's when not in a formal match / training situation at all times - in club and externally. With safety in mind its vitally important that u18's are not near the fenced off areas / avoid the construction area and for parents to explain this to their U18's

Sport this weekend / week!

  • Another full day of cricket on both pitches on Saturday and looks like the weather will be kind to the teams, plus more cricket on Sunday with the 6's and 1's playing at home too.
  • Hockey we are hosting the Talent Academy (TA) Competition Day Timperley TA (Boys) v NW TA (Boys) part of England Hockey's Talent Pathway programme (11am to 4pm)
  • Another busy day for the football section too as its the second presentations day with teams coming on and off site from 9am to 7pm

Its also finals night for the Hockey Womens 7s Summer on Tuesday (7pm to 10pm) and hockey training too, cricket matches and football training sessions heading into the summer break

Next week should be a quieter one on the Blue Pitch Project with preparation for the arrival of the Turf on Monday 15th July
