Blue Pitch Project
With the fine weather over recent weeks the contractors have made excellent progress and now completed Phase 1 of the Blue Pitch Project including:
- replacement shock pad, the bit that makes the pitch kind on player joints and bouncy!
- replacement Tiger Turf Evo Pro Turf (sand dressed)
- new spectator barrier along part of the cricket pitch side line to create a safer viewing area for all sports
- testing and accreditation of the materials and surface installation
- 14 year guarantee on the turf and 5 years on the installation
We now need to 'bed-in' playing on the pitches ensuring use all areas evenly as possible and avoid using the same are / goal mouths all the time.
We've a number of off cuts rolls of the new turf that available if any members are interested in various lengths and widths, ideal for the garden or on the drive. If you are interested please contact info@timperley-sports.com and arrange to pop down to have a look at what size of roll of turf you'd be interested in. All we ask if that anyone who would like some of the turf if that they make a donation to the blue pitch fund.
We've now all four sports using the all weather pitches and as well as providing excellent playing facilities for members they also provide a major source of our annual income to reinvest in running and improving the club.
Our Sprint Summer Fundraiser for the Blue Pitch has raised £4265 (plus estimated £900 Gift Aid) towards our £10,000 target. Huge thanks to everyone who has made a donation so far. There's still time to donate - and we'd be really appreciative if everyone who uses and enjoys playing on the Blue Pitch would make a donation and contribute to the £270,000 project that so many will benefit from.

We've had various queries about the pitch funding. Of a project of this size members would usually be fundraising for many years and raising a significant % of the overall costs. At TSC we have been able to allocate reserves and members funds to the pitch topped up by fundraising from donations and section and other contributions.
For everyone £ we raise towards the Blue Pitch that so many enjoy the use of we can retain a £ of reserves to invest in the other projects planned including improvements to the clubhouse and bar, drainage, drive ways and access and phase 2 of the blue pitch. We always seek grants where available but the landscape has changed significantly in this area and we work hard to bid for grant monies where available. We currently have a bid in for an energy efficiency grant for example.
Phase 2 of the Blue Pitch Project includes: replacing sections of the fencing, and the area nearest the gates will be replaced over the coming weeks, new recess and goal storage areas on the golf course side and a new covered spectator area (partially funded by the Tom Einstein Legacy). We are also assessing the business case to reduce energy efficiency and convert the lights to LED linked to a grant fund application. We will be submitting planning permission for the elements that require permission and timing will be linked to this and grant applications and fundraising.
Project 18 future phases and TSC AGM
Our 2024 AGM is planned for Thursday 5th September at 7.15pm at the club and we will be sending out the meeting notification w/c 19th August including the Agenda, Annual Report and Director Election Ballot details for eligible members.

Running a club of our size and complexity supporting our core four sports and our wider community use if a major undertaking - on top of running our four sports sections. If you're interested in getting involved in helping run and develop TSC there are a wide range of ways to get involved, from one off jobs, joining a working group, taking on a support role like Assistant Secretary to being an elected Director on the Board.
